PikoBuy service and payment fees are not one number
Start by separating four actors. The seller sets the product price and may create seller-to-warehouse delivery. PikoBuy records the purchasing and parcel workflows and may add the service lines described in its current terms. A third-party logistics provider supplies the international route. A payment network, wallet, bank or card issuer may convert currency or add a charge under its own agreement.
If all four are called “the PikoBuy fee,” you cannot explain why a total changed. Give every line a precise label: product, domestic delivery, purchase-stage service line, international shipping, shipping-stage platform service fee, payment-channel charge, issuer charge, currency conversion difference, return cost or destination-side amount.
The audit question is not “Is there a fee?” It is: who created the line, what amount is it based on, when is it shown, what currency does it use, and where can it be verified? A blank answer means unresolved—not zero.
What PikoBuy currently publishes about service charges
PikoBuy's current Terms of Service distinguish purchasing-agent and parcel-forwarding stages. They say third-party purchasers currently provide purchasing-agent services free of charge, while the user still prepays the chosen product cost and domestic logistics. The same section says PikoBuy may add a necessary service fee when the user confirms payment for purchased goods, but it does not publish a fixed purchase-stage percentage in that clause. Verify the exact live order summary rather than inventing a rate.
For cross-border parcel forwarding, the terms say the user pays the logistics provider's shipping fee and a platform service fee to PikoBuy. The published calculation is 8% of the shipping fee, with a warning that the actual calculation may differ slightly because of exchange-rate fluctuation and settlement timing. That is a current policy statement, not permission to assume every screen, currency or future checkout will remain unchanged.
PikoBuy's public footer currently displays card marks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB. A displayed mark indicates a payment-method family, not a promise that every card, country, currency or transaction will be accepted, and not proof that the method carries no separate charge. Confirm the methods and amounts shown for your account at payment time.
Audit the purchasing-order payment before authorization
At the first payment, begin with the exact selected product state. Confirm seller, colour, size, version, quantity and the price shown for that combination. PikoBuy's beginner guide says prices are subject to actual purchase and out-of-stock orders are refunded. Therefore, the selected source price, the purchasing-order total and any later adjustment should remain separate evidence points.
| Line | Verify this | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Selected variant, quantity and current amount | Cover or starting price applies |
| Domestic delivery | Seller-to-warehouse amount and grouping | Blank means free |
| Service line | Label, base, amount and checkout currency | A fixed rate not shown live |
| Discount | Eligibility, applied amount and expiry | A banner guarantees checkout credit |
| Payment total | Final amount submitted to the channel | It equals the bank's posted amount |
Take a private record of the summary immediately before authorization. Do not publish card numbers, billing addresses, order IDs or account balances. If a line is unclear, pause and ask support what the label covers. A small unexplained amount should not be buried inside the product price merely to make the worksheet balance.
Audit the international parcel and its service-fee base
Parcel payment is a later event. PikoBuy's guide says the shopper chooses a suitable shipping route, submits the parcel and pays international shipping. The terms then identify the shipping fee and the platform service fee as separate obligations. Record the final route, packed weight and dimensions, shipping charge, service-fee line and checkout currency together.
Published shipping-stage platform service fee = international shipping fee × 8%
Use the shipping amount actually shown as the base. Do not apply 8% to the product price, domestic delivery, a previous route estimate or the entire landed-cost worksheet. If the checkout shows a converted amount or a small difference from your arithmetic, retain the displayed values and note the terms' exchange-rate and settlement-time qualification.
Optional packaging, insurance or other add-ons belong on their own rows only when the current parcel screen confirms them. The 8% formula does not prove that every additional service is included in or excluded from the base; the live labelled summary resolves that question. Route discounts should also remain visible instead of being netted silently against an unrelated line.
Separate platform calculation from currency and bank effects
Record three currency checkpoints: the currency used for the PikoBuy checkout, the currency authorized by the payment channel, and the currency posted by the bank or wallet. If they differ, save the amount at each stage and the timestamp. A change can result from conversion timing, payment-channel processing or issuer rules without being a new PikoBuy service fee.
Calculate an observed rate only from amounts that belong to the same transaction. Divide the posted home-currency amount by the authorized checkout-currency amount. Label the result “observed transaction rate,” not PikoBuy's permanent exchange rate. If a separate issuer fee appears, keep it outside the rate calculation so the two effects remain measurable.
Do not use a public mid-market quote as the expected card settlement total without checking the payment network and issuer terms. Likewise, do not infer a hidden percentage from one transaction when timing, refunds or pending authorizations may still change the record.
Worked example: test the published shipping service-fee formula
Assume a parcel checkout shows an international shipping fee of 500 units in the checkout currency. Under the current published 8% formula, the calculated platform service fee is 40 units, producing 540 units before any separately labelled option or payment-side effect.
- Save the route and final parcel inputs that produced the 500-unit shipping line.
- Calculate 500 × 0.08 = 40 as the expected service-fee line.
- Compare 40 with the value actually shown; do not replace the checkout value with your calculation.
- Check for separately labelled packing, insurance, discount or account-balance lines.
- Record the total submitted to the payment channel.
- After settlement, record the bank or wallet's posted amount and currency.
- Explain any difference with evidence instead of assigning it automatically to PikoBuy.
The example uses neutral units to demonstrate the calculation, not a live freight quote. It does not claim a route price, exchange rate, payment fee or card acceptance result. Your parcel screen and posted transaction supply those values.
Close the fee record only after payment settles
A pending authorization can change, disappear or be replaced by a settled transaction. Keep the pre-payment summary, authorized amount and posted amount as separate checkpoints. If a refund occurs, add the refund date, original-currency amount, returned amount and any explicitly labelled deduction. Do not erase the original payment.
PikoBuy's Returns & Exchanges page publishes separate return conditions and costs for eligible warehouse cases, including a current RMB 5 service fee for an unconditional return plus relevant domestic shipping lines. That rule belongs in a return record, not in the normal purchase or parcel service-fee calculation. Eligibility, responsibility and seller consent still need live verification.
A complete audit ends with three conclusions: the platform lines reconciled to the checkout; any currency or payment-side difference reconciled to the settled statement; and every unresolved line has an owner and next evidence point. This creates a reusable cost history without turning one order into a universal fee table.
